I am a coach and co-founder of the Helsinki chapter of codebar.

We organise workshops to provide coaching in coding to people from groups underrepresented in the software industry. We match up experienced programmers with our attending students, and provide a comfortable space (and free food) in which to learn in a personal and customised way.

What makes codebar different, in my opinion, to other similar programs is that we focus on catering to the students' individual needs, rather than teaching standardised courses.

If you work at a company in Helsinki, or any of the other cities with codebar chapters, and care about equality and diversity then we would love to hear from you.
